Burton Albion 3 Dagenham & Redbridge 2

17th November 2012
15:00
The Pirelli Stadium

Burton came from behind to eventually just do enough to edge out Dagenham at The Pirelli on Saturday afternoon to secure the points in a five-goal thriller.

The Brewers could have been out of sight in the early stages of the game but were denied by a double save and the post before Dagenham were awarded a penalty with debutant keeper Dean Lyness deemed to have committed a foul.

Lyness saved Michael Spillane's spot kick, pushing it onto the post, but Dwight Gayle (29) followed up to give Dagenham the lead, which they took into the break.

Shortly after the break, with two goals in two-minutes, Burton turned things around though. Former Dagenham man Damien McCrory (51) equalised for the hosts with Matt Paterson (53) then giving them a lead soon after.

Dagenham looked to have a rescued a point late on when Sam Williams (78) brought the visitors level but instantly Billy Kee (79) restored Burton's lead with a fine strike, this time The Brewers did hang on to secure a 3-2 win.
