Burnett Takes Charge As Still Leaves

John Still has taken up the managerial position at Luton, and Wayne Burnett has been appointed until the end of the season.

A statement on the Official Site explained that the board of directors gave Still permission to talk to Luton over the weekend, and our former manager had two offers on the table for his services.

It also explained that the club were entitled to a rather large compensation fee, but alternative arrangements were made - resulting in a nominal up front amount, the arranging of a friendly, and further payments depending on Still's success at the new club - as a result of the clubs relationship with Still and all he had achieved with us, to enable him to take the opportunity.

This means that Wayne Burnett will now take over as interim manager until the end of the season after previously impressing the board when taking on the role in John's absence.

Speaking to the Official Site also, Burnett said of being handed the role.

'I feel honoured to be ofered the role and I'm delighted I have been given the opportunity to manage Dagenham and Redbridge. It will be a step up but I am relishing the challenge.'
