'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Hackett Delighted By JPT Win

Warren Hackett has talked about his delight at the performance of the players in the thumping win over Colchester United in the first round of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.

Colchester took the lead in the first half, before a spirited second half fight back led to the scoring of four goals and progression through to the second round.

Speaking to the Official Site Hackett explained.

'I'm very pleased with the performance, I was disappointed in the result on Saturday, so to come here and win 4-1 is a massive positive.'

Hackett adds that we gave away a cheap goal and switched off in the first half, but now that we have two home games in a row it's the perfect time to show what Dagenham can do now that this game should've given everyone a really good boost of confidence.

It's been a bit of a mixed start to the season, but another comprehensive performance and win this weekend would do everyone the world of good.

He was also pleased to see Afolabi Obafemi start the game as he said that in the last two development games he's been the best player and has more than deserved his chance to show the fans what he can do.

Some would say the result against Colchester was the perfect early birthday present for Wayne Burnett as he celebrates his 42nd birthday today!
