Burnett Expecting Tough Burton Encounter

Burnett Expecting Tough Burton Encounter

Manager Wayne Burnett has said he's expecting a very tough encounter against Burton Albion this weekend.

Speaking to the Official Site following our last loss to Peterborough in the FA Cup, Burnett said that despite the test that Burton will pose us, we simply have to get back to winning ways in the league as we are still looking to put the defeat to Hartlepool behind us.

'I'd like to think that Saturday's match is a good opportunity to get back to winning ways. We are disappointed to be out of the cups but our main objective is the league and we can now focus on that.'

Burnett says he was hoping for a cup run in at least one of them this season, but it just hasn't turned out that way for us unfortunately, so all our efforts now have to go into making the league season as enjoyable and as successful as we now can.

Getting back to winning ways against Burton will be difficult however and if the game ends with a share of the spoils that shouldn't be sniffed at given their away record in the league, and we know from previous encounters how competitive Gary Rowett has them so it should be a good game nonetheless and a return of all three points would be a great bonus.

As for recent signing Anthony Edgar who could potentially make his bow this weekend I believe, Burnett adds that we knew all about him and he was a big player for West Ham before he lost his way, but he's now looking to get back on track, he's come here and 'isn't earning any money' and that says a lot about his maturity and desire to get back into the game properly and impress to earn a contract with us moving forward.

Hopefully it'll turn out to be a fantastic move and we have another asset to our bow.
