Burnett Frustrated By Hartlepool Loss
Two second half goals in the game against Hartlepool yesterday left manager Wayne Burnett very frustrated at the final whistle.
Speaking to the press following the game, Burnett admitted that he was very disappointed with the performance from the team on the day as ultimately we got what we deserved from the game...nothing.
'We didn't get going, didn't look threatening and weren't good enough.'
Burnett says that Hartlepool defended well over the 90 minutes when we did get close to troubling them, and it was going to be one of those games where the first goal would be huge on the day, and they were the ones that got it.
Rhys Murphy also had a goal disallowed, and Burnett was non to happy with the referees decision to award them a foul in the build up because he doesn't believe it was, but he wasn't going to rally against it as the decision was made and it won't be changed now.
After some pleasing displays of late and whilst we remain with an outside chance of pushing into the play off spots, Burnett will no doubt be hoping that this was simply a bad day at the office and that we can get back on track pretty quickly starting with our next match.
