Boucaud Signs One Year Deal

Boucaud Signs One Year Deal

Andre Boucaud has today signed a one year deal with Dagenham and Redbridge.

The Trinidad and Tobago international has been with the club on a trial basis since the end of July, and manager Wayne Burnett has been impressed enough to offer him a 12 year deal on the back of his efforts.

The experienced 29 year old began at Queens Park Rangers progressing through their youth system and he later moved onto Reading's academy. In his time with them he took in a loan spell with Peterborough United and eventually moved on to them following his release by Reading.

Two years with them, and a loan spell to Aldershot, saw him move on to Kettering in the Conference where he again took in a loan spell with Wycombe Wanderers and then York City who he eventually joined on a permanent basis.

From them he moved onto Luton Town but a change in management saw him only play six times, and then he went on loan to Notts County. That deal became permanent in January 2013 and he was released this summer.

He has 17 international caps and has scored one goal for his country, but he also comes to us just two appearances shy of 300 games across his career.

He has joined us in time to make his debut in our opener of the season against Morecambe on Saturday and he will wear the No 28 shirt.

Speaking to the Official Site after penning the deal, Boucaud says it's been a good pre season for him so far and he's delighted to have now signed a deal for the next year, but the focus now becomes about the first league game of the year.

'Come Saturday we've got to go and get three points, not a draw, not a loss, so we can get off to the best possible start.'
