Hines Resigns For Dagenham
Winger Zavon Hines has finally put pen to paper on the new contract we offered him over the summer, and he's now penned a two year deal.
Before suffering injury last season, he scored five times for us and was a key player in the side until his season was ended early.
Having had an operation back in March to repair damage on his anterior cruciate ligament, the player is now making good progress on his return, and all parties will no doubt be happy knowing we have him to look forward to as well as the season progresses.
The 25 year old has been handed the No 11 short but obviously is not in contention for the game tomorrow against Morecambe.
Speaking to the Official Site as the news was announced, manager Wayne Burnett said.
'I'm very pleased to have resigned Zavon. He's done very well last season, extremely well in fact. He won't be available to play straight away due to an ongoing injury, but he's committed to a two year deal.'
Speaking himself after penning the two year contract Hines said.
'It feels good to be back, I'm very happy to be honest. The gaffer is one of the main reasons I'm back and I want to help him build on last season. I'm just really excited and I want to work hard, everyone says Dagenham are a small club, but we've got a good manager, a good set of fans and a lot of ambition.'
As for injury Hines confirms that his rehab is going very well and he doesn't feel he's too far away from a proper return, but obviously he's not quite there yet so it's pointless putting a timescale on it.
