Hemmings Pleased With Progress

Hemmings Pleased With Progress

Winger Ashley Hemmings has said he feels great having scored his first league goal for the club last weekend in our victory over Oxford United.

Hemmings had of course bagged a brace in the Capital One Cup thriller against Brentford already for us, but having now built on that by helping us to a point in last weekend's three all draw, he told the Official Site that he couldn't be more pleased with his performances levels at the moment or how it's going for him at Dagenham.

'It felt great to get the first league goal under my belt. I'm definitely after more now, so hopefully I can keep going and add to the tally. With how I've started I'd like to think I've been effective for the team and all the boys have made me feel comfortable. I feel like I'm really linking up with the team and I know what everyone is doing now and it feels great.'

As for the Oxford game itself, Hemmings goes on to say that he felt the team put in a real committed performance on the day and everybody would've liked to have come away with all three points given what we put into the match, but coming away with a point was pleasing enough as it was for him the least we deserved on the day.

Having moved to us back in July the 23 year old said his hope was to make an impact and prove his worth in the first team, and now he feels he has done that the next trick for him will be to prove he can be consistent enough to stay there and really help us move up the table now.
